‘Ovulation’ is a part of the female menstrual cycle. However, during ovulation, one can get pregnant up to 5 days as sperm tends to live long. Ovulation is a process when a mature egg is released from the female sex organ ‘ovaries’ and is pushed towards the fallopian tube for fertilization. Ovulation is likely to happen midway on your menstrual cycle. For some women, it is normal to experience cramping before, during, and after this process. Cramping is a painful experience on one side of the lower abdomen. Ovulation occurs once a month in women until menopause. Ovulation ceases when a woman is pregnant or breastfeeding. Some women might experience less pain while other women can experience an excruciating pain. Cramping or simply cramps can be defined as a sensation of pulling felt by women on one or both sides of their abdomen. Ovulation pain can last for few minutes to few days. For some women, the pain can last from few minutes to few hours while for other women, the pain can last up to days. I took the second one yesterday and today I feel weird mild cramping. I took my first dose 50mg two days ago (it was my third day AF). AF is pretty much done, sort of but the cramping is different. Does Clomid cause slight cramping while actually taking it? The most consistent is hot flashes, then I have headaches fairly consistent and I've never been prone to headaches before. I also get a cyst every month but they resolve on their own. Hi Meli- I just finished my first round of clomid 3-7. I definitely get cramps every month, starts on day #2 and slowly increases, esp worse around day #13-15, very bloated. Some studies have reported that as many as 85% of people with diabetes experience fatigue, defined as excessive tiredness that interferes with one or more life functions. See a couple of articles on getting better sleep here and here. That’s why many cultures encourage a siesta (rest) in those hours. Can you think of one person or creature who makes you feel better? Let’s focus on quality of life over quantity of stuff done or acquired. As a Diabetes Self-Management reader named Donnah wrote, “Since being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, my housework suffers dramatically, I don’t do half of the things that I used to do with my child. Most jobs frown on napping, but if you can find a way, embrace your nap. Do what you can to bring your sugar down, whether it’s diet, exercise, supplements, or medicines. If you can’t get sunshine, maybe buy a full-spectrum light that mimics the sun’s effects. • Find something you love and apply yourself to it. Find your personal balance between work, play, improvement, service, and rest. When I do find the time and energy to do things, I am easily worn out and need to rest. I am on disability because of it and I hate this.” Causes of fatigue How does diabetes make you tired? The same thing happens with poorly controlled diabetes. If there’s no reason to get up, your body won’t want to. • Get tested for anemia, thyroid, and other possible causes of your fatigue. Compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) marked “cool white” or “daylight” are also better than standard incandescent bulbs. Try to stop what you’re doing every couple of minutes and focus on your breathing for a minute. You might even find something to do on the Internet. • High blood sugar makes blood sticky, so it can’t get through the capillaries as easily to bring oxygen to cells. High blood sugar can mean having that feeling all the time. • Hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar, can cause fatigue. • Ask a pharmacist if your medications could be causing fatigue. A reader named Kat commented that since she started “juicing green leafy vegetables in the morning, with some wheatgrass…and eating a higher-protein and -fat, lower-carbohydrate diet, I have shaken off…the extreme fatigue that I used to have every day.” • Supplements. • Do some kind of gentle movement like walking or tai chi. My blog The Inn by the Healing Path is full of stories of people healing by committing to what they love. • Insulin resistance keeps glucose out of body cells, so they don’t have fuel. • The mental stress of coping with diabetes can wear out your mind and spirit. Changing hours of sleep and activity confuses your body, and it may be difficult to get the sleep you need. Ginseng, vitamin B12, magnesium, alpha-lipoic acid, acetyl-L-carnitine, and coenzyme Q-10 are recommended by several authorities. Many other conditions besides diabetes can cause fatigue. If your sugars are under control, but you still lack energy, consider being tested for: • Sleep apnea, which causes exhaustion and is very common in diabetes. This cycle was cancelled because I didn't have any mature follicles. I know the doc on this board doesn't seem to be a fan of Clomid, but from the research I found on various sites, it seems the most popular drug they start you on. However, every time I've been on the clomid I get headaches. I'm going to see my doctor this week and am wondering if I should ask to move on to injectables. We had 2 failed IUI cycles, the next cycle I had a cyst and was cancelled and this time the low response. Guess it all varies according to age & cause of infertility. And they seem to last for days beyond my last dose of clomid. I know the docs on this board aren't fans of clomid, but it seems to work for some. On my first cycle w/ Clomid, I had a sinus infection. It has definitely not been a fun medication for me. So, I couldn't tell whether my headaches were from Clomid or the infection. I'm hoping my doctor recommends something else when we seem him this week. Kaz I too had terrible reaction from Clomid aching headaches, terrible moods and not being able to hold my pee when it came I just had to go and one time I had a nasty experience when I driving home from work :-[I hope you get your BFP soon so that you won't have to do repeats.
