I am newly "diagnosed", though still waiting for it to be official. Anyway I was diagnosed with dry macular degeneration 7 years ago. I have also seen 3 rheumatologists, and 2 of them say I should take Plaquenil and the risk of damage to my macula is not big enough to not take the Plaquenil. Well, my question is: Does anyone here who is taking Plaquenil also have macular degeneration? Plaquenil Oral Uses, Side Effects, Interactions. Eye screening for patients taking hydroxychloroquine. Plaquenil and hair growth? Or loss? - Lupus - Inspire For the last 18 months, my hair has been thinning. Then my doctor found I had lupus. He will put me on Plaquenil soon, which he says may help the hair grow back. I have read frequent comments online that Plaquenil causes hair loss. Will Plaquenil help my hair grow in or cause it to fall out more?

Hair loss in Plaquenil how severe and when it was recovered.

Polymyalgia Rhuematica Mayo Clinic Connect My poor mother, who died in 2004, suffered for 20 years but I am not sure which was worse, whatever disease she had if it really was polymyalgia rheumatica or the "treatments" for it. My mom became sick after she and my dad returned from a long-awaited retirement trip. Her muscles, especially in her arms and shoulders, ached.
